Monroe County Legislator Richard Yolevich represents the 1st Legislative District, which includes the towns of Parma, and portions of Ogden and Sweden. Dick was elected in 2005, and began his first legislative term on January 1, 2006. He was re-elected by his community November 2008 to serve a full, four-year term.Legislator Yolevich currently serves as Chairman of the Agenda/Charter Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and is also a member of the Public Safety Committee. Prior to joining the County Legislature, Dick served as a Town of Parma Councilman from 2000 to 2005. Dick serves on the Board of Directors and is Treasurer for the Monroe County Soil and Water Conservation District, Legislator Yolevich also holds a seat on the Inter-County Association of Western New York.Dick’s efforts in serving his community reach far beyond his duties as a Legislator. He is a member of the Hilton-Parma Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6105, American Legion Post No. 88, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20, Dick has been a proactive member of his community for more than 25 years. He has spent significant time on the Parma Zoning Board of Appeals, in addition to taking an active interest in local schools by serving in several capacities for the Hilton Central School District. He was member of several committees including the District Food Service, High School Communication, and Junior High School Steering Committees. Dick also spent over eight years as a softball coach for the Hilton-Parma Recreation Department.Dick draws from his numerous successes in the private sector to aid in decision making for his constituents. He is educated and experienced in a wide array of fields that gives him a uniquely comprehensive perspective when looking at issues that face his community. Dick’s entrepreneurial mindset was developed in his nearly three decades in the private sector, where he has owned and operated several prosperous businesses.Village Doughnuts is a name well known to residents of the 1st District, a tribute to Dick’s ability to see an opportunity and turn it into long term success as he spent over a quarter century as the owner and operator of multiple units in the area. Dick also spent nearly fifteen years as a licensed real estate agent and has accumulated valuable knowledge of the field. Additionally, he has owned and operated Better Hearing Associates, Inc., specializing in consumer sales of hearing aids, as well as Business Match-Ups, Inc., which successfully paired business owners with potential owners or investors.Dick is an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served in the Special Services Division, and is a Vietnam Veteran as well. He is a lifelong resident of Monroe County, and has called the Town of Parma home for nearly four decades. Dick and his wife Susan have two children, and four grandchildren.


Pete McCann was elected Town Supervisor and took office in January 2010.  He served on the Monroe County Legislautre from 1990 to 2006 as well as the Town of Parma Zoning Board of Appeals from 1980 to 1990.

 Pete is a lifelong resident of Parma and is married to Lynda McCann. Professionally he has been  an insurance agent at Newcomb-McCann Agency for 39 years and owner since 1980. Pete is a graduate of the Hilton Central School District class of 1963.  He attended  SUNY Alfred  and earned an AAS in Construction Technology in 1965.  In 1968 he joined the U.S. Army and served in VietNam until 1969 at which time he received the Army Commendation Medal.

 His affiliations include life membership in the Hilton-Parma VFW post 6105, membership in the Hiscock Fishbaugh American Legion Post 788, Parma Republican Committee (PRC) member 1990 –present, PRC chairman 1990-2006, member of the  Hilton-Parma Chamber of Commerce and a parishioner at the  Hilton Baptist Church

Gary Comardo has been an elected Town Councilman since 2007 and has worked as a Quality technician at Carestream Health (formerly Kodak Health Imaging) for the past thirty seven years.

 Gary has been a resident of Parma for twenty nine years with his wife of thirty four years Linda  their two sons Alex and Gary . He shares his house with three cats.  He is a graduate of  Bishop Kearney High School class of 1970.

 He is a former member of the Hilton Central School District Board of Education (11 years) focusing on financial restraint and curriculum reform.  Gary has been a member of  the Parma Republican Committee since 1995 and was Town Leader from 1998 to 2011.  He looks forward to participating in the annual Operation Local Soldier of which he is a committee member.

 He is an avid history buff as can be attested to by his collection of original sources  primarily ancient and medieval eras.

 


Jim Roose was appointed to the Parma Town Board in April, 2009 and began serving as an elected official in January 2010.  He has worked for County of Monroe since March, 2009 as the Manager of the Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives, and he is a former Bausch & Lomb employee.  Jim has previous experience as a Monroe County Legislator from 1998-2002 where he was chairman of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee.

Jim has been a resident of Parma for eight years with his wife Mary and their four children.  Jim attended R.I.T  in 1984.

Jim is a member of Christ Community Church. He is also a member and Town Leader on  the Parma Republican Committee.

 

 Jim Smith was elected and began serving as Councilman on the Parma Town Board in January 2006.  He is a lifelong resident of Parma where he lives with his wife Jeanette and three sons.  Their sons are the sixth generation raised in their home.

Jim attended SUNY Buffalo where he earned his BS in Civil Engineering. He graduated with an AS degree from Monroe Community College.  Jim graduated from Hilton Central High School in 1971. He has worked for Ashland Specialty Chemical since 1979.   

Jim has been an active member of the Parma Republican Committee since 1992, and he coordinates the annual AppleFest booth for the committee.  Jim serves as an alternate to the Judicial Convention for State Supreme Court. In addition, Jim’s current and past affiliations include membership in the Parma Historical Society and the Almond Historical Society.  Jim served as Chair of Parma’s Recycling Committee (1990-1992), Vice-President of the Rochester Chapter of the National Association of Power Engineers (2006 to the present), Hilton Soccer Tournament committee (1994-1999), and Town of Parma Planning Board Member (1992 -2005). 


Carm Carmestro was elected and began serving as Councilman on the Parma Town Board in 2006.

Carm  has been a resident of Parma for twenty three years with  his wife Cathy and their two sons who are both currently serving in the U.S. Navy.

 In addition to owning and operating Carmestro's restaurant in the Village of Hilton, he is President of the Parma Chamber of Commerce, 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, active in the Hilton Volunteer Fire Department, and a parishioner of St Leo's Catholic church.

Carm is a member of several Hilton Central School District committees including Communication, Business and Budget and he is a supporter of the Hilton Select Baseball program.



Donna K. Curry has been the Town Clerk since June of 2006 and has worked for Parma since December of 2005.  She was the Deputy Town Clerk and Receiver of Taxes in the Town of Sweden for five years in the 1970’s.  Her career has been one of public service in the not-for-profit sector and includes work in the finance department for the Diocese of Rochester and as Manager of Finance and Information Systems for the Rochester Eye and Tissue Bank.

Donna has been a resident of Parma for twenty years with her husband Patrick and her daughter Sara.  She is a graduate of Monroe Community College with an Associates degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from St. John Fisher College.

 

Her business affiliations include membership in the Monroe County Town Clerk Receiver of Taxes and Collectors Association, the NYS Town Clerks Association, the NYS Association of Tax Receivers and Collectors.  She is also a member of the Hilton Rotary, Chinaberry Twig for Lakeside Hospital, the Parma Bicentennial Committee and a volunteer for other local organizations including the Apple Fest.

The Honorable Michael A. Sciortino is a Justice of the Parma Town Court in Monroe County and has served in that capacity since January, 2001.  He has presided over more than 20,000 criminal, traffic, civil, and local town and village law matters in that Court and other Courts in Monroe County.  He is also is a Partner with the law firm of Chamberlain D’Amanda Oppenheimer & Greenfield LLP, where he personally represents individuals with personal injuries, labor or employment disputes, and handles commercial, corporate, and municipal litigation, in both State and Federal Court.  Moreover, Judge Sciortino serves as Chief General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer of eHealth Global Technologies, Inc., a local healthcare corporation providing medical record and image services worldwide, assisting with its general corporate legal matters, contract negotiations, and ensuring compliance with federal and state health privacy and security laws.  Judge Sciortino is also an Arbitrator with the Better Business Bureau and assists with the resolution of commercial disputes between businesses and consumers.  Judge Sciortino is the recipient of the following prestigious awards: “2011 Top Counsel Award”, the “2009 Chuck Cuminale Youth Advocate Award” issued by The Center For Youth, and the “2006 Up and Coming Attorney’s Award” for his dedication to the legal profession and local community.

 

The Town of Parma has passed a unanimous Resolution permitting Judge Sciortino to serve on judicial assignments within the Seventh Judicial District.  Judge Sciortino serves the local community as an Acting City Court Judge in Rochester City Court, an Acting Town Justice in the Town of Henrietta, a Presiding Judge of Rochester Teen Court, and also provides judicial assistance with matters in the Town Courts of Greece, Ogden, Clarkson, Sweden and Hamlin.  Judge Sciortino earned his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School of Union University in 2000, his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Legal Studies and Philosophy from the University of Rochester in 1997, and is a 1993 graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School. 

Judge Sciortino’s parents immigrated to the United States from Agrigento, Sicily, and were laborers and union members.  Judge Sciortino has always maintained the same degree of pride, values, tradition, and cultural compassion that he was educated and raised with from his parents.  Judge Sciortino resides in Hilton with his wife and children.
